December 8, 1932 - April 3, 2013
Silvano Bertocchi passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Silvano was born near Capodistria, Italy (present day Koper, Slovenia). He immigrated to Canada, arriving in Halifax in March of 1957 and settling initially in southern Ontario. In 1961 he moved to Alberta, and in 1962 made Calgary his home. He worked many years as a self-employed carpenter but his passion was for the outdoors. He spent many days fishing and hunting the lakes and coulees of southern Alberta - especially in the Chain Lakes area. Silvano is survived by his loving wife Ludvika; sons David (Tanya), Terry (Michelle) and Michael (Nicole); grandchildren Ethan, Eleanor and Thomas; and brothers Bruno, Joe and Egidio. Silvano will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by us all. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Silvano, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park, Cochrane.
