SUTCLIFFE, Joseph Anthony "Joe"

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Sutcliffe on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Joe was born in Edmonton, on November 8, 1927 and was raised in Calgary. He attended St. Anne's School. Joe worked in the millwright industry with Chinook Building Supplies, Tru-Fit Millwork and Manning Egleston. He began a 25-year career with the Calgary Catholic School District in 1967. As a Caretaker, he was positioned at a number of schools until he moved to Central Office in 1974 where he retired from in 1992. Joe was a very spiritual man and after his retirement he became heavily involved in St. Pius X Catholic Parish. Joe was always ready and willing to help out anyone who needed a helping hand. He was an integral part of St. Pius X parish and will be dearly missed. Joe is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Anne and Frank Boehm; grandsons, Brendan and Matthew; and many other family members. He was predeceased by his loving wife of fifty-five years Ruth Sutcliffe in 2006. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 - 24 Avenue N.W.) on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 - 24 Avenue N.W.) on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Luis Moreno Nava and The Rev. Wayne Poile, Celebrants. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with Joe's family through www.evanjstrong.com.
