Sad because of a vibrant life ended too soon and before she could complete her future plans and see the results of her involvement in the growth and development of her grandchildren that meant so much to her.
Relief because of her one-year journey through the first and last illness of her life has come to an end with her able to say that she was happy with her life and was at peace with herself and the immediate world around her. She was very thankful for the good fortune she has had.
Gratitude because of the person she was: intelligent, thoughtful, wise, principled, grounded, pragmatic and compassionate, with a constantly positive and happy spirit. We are proud of the quietly positive influence she had on all who grew to know her both personally and professionally through her teaching career and regard this as her greatest achievement and her lasting legacy.
She did not like funerals and did not want a fuss, but was convinced to plan for a casual cocktail celebration to be held in Gasoline Alley at Heritage Park on Sunday September 15, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. for those wishing to get together with us to reacquaint and reminisce about the many happy times and experiences we had with this remarkable woman.
In keeping with her love of her unique series of mongrel dogs and in lieu of flowers, she would appreciate a small contribution to the Calgary Humane Society if you are so inclined.
