Saverio (Sav) Loria, beloved husband of Joanna Loria of Airdrie, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the age of 34 years. Besides his loving wife, Saverio is survived by their children, Sophia, Giuseppe and Alessia Loria; his mother and stepfather Josephine and Wayne Ooms; his Nonno and Nonna Giovanni and Giovanna Arcuri; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tomasz and Anna Wejman; sister and brother-in-law, Luisa and Keith Salomons and their daughter Olivia Salomons; stepbrother Justin Ooms. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Tony and Angie Arcuri, Maria and Antonio Mancina and Domenic and Lori Arcuri; cousins, Johnny and Ashley Arcuri, Rosa and Kurt Deus and their children, Joanna and Mike Aurini and their daughter, Giovanna and Eric Brophy, and Giulia Arcuri; his grandfather Frank Ooms as well as the Loria and Arcuri extended family and many friends. Saverio was predeceased by his father Giuseppe (Joe) Loria; his Nonno and Nonna, Saverio and Luisa Loria; grandmother Rose Ooms; Nonno and Nonna, Domenic and Isabella Mele. Saverio was a loving, gentle and kind person. He had a huge heart, an infectious laugh and a personality you could not help but love. Saverio was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He met his high school sweetheart and soul- mate seventeen years ago. They were married for ten years and their love for each other grew stronger each day. Saverio's dedication and pride in his work resulted in many professional achievements and successes. His passions in life were his family, his friends, the Boston Bruins (Black and Yellow!), enjoying wine, dancing in the living room and all the finer things in life. Saverio truly lived life to the fullest, travelling, entertaining and fiercely loving all the people in his life. One of his fondest memories was his recent trip to the Bruins playoff game in Boston, in Sav's own words,

Saverio had wanted family and friends to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing. To honour his wish the family requests you wear black and yellow to celebrate his life. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (corner of 4 Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (corner of 4 Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
