MYROON, Alexander
March 7, 1914 – January 29, 2014
Alexander Myroon of Calgary, Alberta, passed away at Rockyview Hospital on January 29, 2014 at the age of 99 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary; his sons, Ken (Marg), and Don (Teri); his grandchildren, Alicia (Mark McLelland), Robb (Kathleen), Chase and Colby; his brother, Nick, sister Mary, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born in Redwater, AB, taught school at Mapova, was Auditor at Naval Headquarters - HMCS Bytown, Ottawa, Secretary-Treasurer of the Loyal Order of Moose, loved to golf and travel, and worked in the petroleum industry until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a member of the choir and Secretary of the church congregation. Most recently, he and Mary have been longtime residents of Staywell Manor in Calgary. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church (404 Meredith Road N.E.) in Calgary with the Very Reverend Father Taras Krochak officiating. Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery (32 Avenue - 4 Street N.W.) in Calgary. Reception to follow at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, a memorial tribute may be made to the charity of your choice. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting leydens.com.
