Carl Anderson of Calgary, AB passed away at the Colonel Belcher Care Center on January 21, 2014 at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (2008) as well as by all his siblings. Carl was born on February 20, 1922 in Seven Persons, Alberta. His parents moved to Eckville, Alberta when he was young where he worked on the farm until he enlisted in the Air Force. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a mechanic, in Canada and also in Europe, during World War Two. Carl married Helen Kulyk, July 23, 1955 and moved to Calgary where he was employed by the City of Calgary. After his retirement, he and Helen loved to travel and enjoyed working in the yard. Carl also loved to golf and in his later years he and his friends would play for the "yellow quarter." He enjoyed helping others and donated a considerable amount to numerous charities including Calgary Handibus and the Children's Hospital. Memorial donations in Carl's memory may be made directly to Alberta Children's Hospital (2888 Shaganappi Trail N.W., Calgary, AB, T3B 6A8) or the Calgary Poppy Fund (No. 1, 4539 – 6 Street N.E., Calgary, AB, T2E 3Z6).
