GLOWA, Ethel Caroline
November 9, 1921 – May 3, 2014
Ethel Glowa (nee Akers) passed away peacefully on May 3, 2014, at the age of 92, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Ethel will be dearly missed and her memory cherished by her daughters, Marilyn (Keith), Valerie (John), grandchildren, Alexis (Josh), Roger (Crystal), Jessica (Steve), great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kevin, Paige, "third daughter" Jackie, numerous nieces and nephews and the countless friends who brought such joy to her life every day. Ethel was predeceased in 2009 by Alex, her loving husband of 66 years, her parents, Ferdinand and Anne Akers, brothers Bill, Frank, Fred and Henry (Nibs) Akers. We would like to give special thanks to the recreation staff and the care staff in the Chaparral Unit at the Beverly Care Centre, Midnapore, for the kindness and care shown to Ethel in the last four and a half years and to the nursing and care staff in Unit 47 at the Rockyview Hospital. Sincere thanks to Anna for helping us complete our journey with Ethel. A celebration of Ethel's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Okotoks Elks Club, 58 Elizabeth Street, Okotoks, AB.
