SINGH _ Nanjo July 24, 1930 - April 26, 2006 Nanjo passed away in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 75. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Elsie. Nanjo is survived by his daughter Diane McLaren, husband Phil, grandchildren, Shawn, Nicole and Kristal; daughter Sharon Carlson, Bruce and grandchildren, Denim and Cierra. Nanjo was predeceased by his parents, Berama and Dhan Kaur Singh; brothers-in-law, Freddie Livermore, William Livermore and Jack Stroud; sisters-in-law, Florence Carpenter and Hilda Stroud. He is survived by his brother-in-law Herbie Livermore and sister-in-law Betty Livermore, several nieces and nephews and many long-time friends. Nanjo was born and raised in Calgary and farmed in the Chestermere Lake area with his wife for over fifty years. He took pleasure in the raising of his grandchildren. Nanjo had a keen interest in sports and was an outstanding athlete. He achieved many Provincial Championships in handball and wrestling, and in wrestling he qualified for the British Empire Games. He loved to work out at the gym and weight lift. Exercise and fitness were an important part of his life. He was a member of Boystown and the Calgary YMCA for many years. He was an avid fan of rodeo and football and played for the Calgary Broncs and the Calgary Stampeders Football Team. He took pride in his Calgary heritage and faithfully attended the Calgary Stampede for many years. He will be sorrowfully missed by family and friends whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank the staff of Forest Grove Care Centre for the compassion and care shown to their dad over the past five months.
