Barry Hollowell

Barry Hollowell 1948 - 2016 HOLLOWELL _ Rt. Rev. Barry Hollowell, PhD passed away peacefully on August 17, 2016 at the age of 68 years at the Sarcee Hospice in Calgary, Alberta. Barry is predeceased by his wife Linda Barry-Hollowell (2008) and will be lovingly remembered by his husband, Kevin Huang. Barry and Linda have left a legacy in their three children and three grandchildren. Barry was born on April 14, 1948 in Boston, MA. Barry was an accomplished academic who voraciously ate from the tree of knowledge obtaining a B.A. from Valparaiso University, B.A. and M.A. from Cambridge University, Master's of Divinity from Harvard University, two Master's degrees in Psychology and Pastoral Counselling, and a PhD in Counselling Psychology. Barry spent the last years of his career practicing counselling as a registered psychologist and teaching postgraduate courses as a sessional instructor with the University of Calgary. Previous to his career in counselling psychology, Barry dedicated thirty-one years working in the Anglican Church as an ordained priest raising to the order of bishop. Barry's soft-spoken and wise demeanor will be missed by his family, close friends, and colleagues.
