I enjoyed ALL of my conversations with Marie. With her support and understanding "The Black Chalice" became the first book we published. Working with her was a joy. May her spirit live on through her writing, work and friendships. RIP.

To the spirit of Marie Jakober:
How I once hoped that I would get the chance to meet you and talk with you face to face... It didn't happen. But I do at least want you to know that I'm reading The Black Chalice for the fifth time; it's my torch in the darkness. Cry 'Tyr! Tyr!' on behalf of the voices of the counternarrative, dear Marie, and keep telling your stories wherever you are now. May your inspiration live forever.

I remember a South American audience shouting 'bravo' when she read a piece from her travels in Guatemala... magnificent mentor.

Marie was an inspired writer who always had a kind word of encouragement for young writers like me back in the day. She will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain your family during this challenging time. (Isaiah 61:1,2) With heartfelt sympathy.
