Orvie C. Roark, 84, went to be with our Lord on April 30, 2013. He was born April 28, 1929 in Lamar, CO to Clyde and Alta (King) Roark. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He lived and worked in the San Luis Valley for 50 years as a farmer, at the Colorado State Veterans Center in Monte Vista CO and retired as plant maintenance foreman at Adams State College Alamosa CO, retiring in Canon City CO for the last 34 years. Orvie was a member of the Monte Vista Elks Lodge 2456. He loved his family and working in his yard and garden. Mr. Roark is survived by his wife, Latrelle; daughters Susan (Lonnie) McCullough of The Villages, FL, and Gloria (Tom) Greenwood of Pueblo West, CO; sister, Myra Pottberg of Olatha, CO; step-children, Lonnie (Edie) Wilson of Las Animas, CO, Ruby Pratt (Delmer) of Canon City, CO, Essie Dabney of Canon City, CO, Taylor (Roseanna) Wilson of Young AZ, David (Sally) Getz of Alamosa, CO, Adrian (Rhoda Anne) Getz of Alamosa, CO, Paula (Jon) Crunk of Ruidoso, NM, and Russell Getz of Milwaukee, WI; special granddaughter, Chery Lucero; special niece, Valora Roark; special sister-in-law, Grace Sellars, 21 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Vernie Roark, Velma Major, Opal Snider, and Dorothy McGinnis. At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements handled through Wilson Funeral Home.

My Great Grandpa was an amazing man. He always made sure us kids were taken care of no matter what. We will all miss him greatly but I know he's already planned a garden, built a shop, and is sitting on a porch with Grandma Nellie in heaven.
