Stanley F. "Bud" Boorom, 92, passed away November 16, 2013. He was born April 22, 1921 to the union of Forest Ray and Hazel May (Pitney) Boorom. He always chose to bring his family with him when he was stationed overseas. Bud loved working on old classic cars like Model A's. Mr. Boorom is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Helen Marie Boorom; daughters, Peggie (James) Gillis, Shirley (Roger) Sharp, and Cindy (Douglas) Deppe; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Maynard Ross Boorom; and sister, Kitty Coreing. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at Mountain Vale Memorial Park in the Garden of Fallen Heroes, with Military Honors. A reception will follow at the Oak Creek Southern Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Funeral & Cremation Care of Colorado.

Some of my earliest memories are of doing fun things with my grandpa (reading the Saturday comics, watching Bugs Bunny, and eating peanuts together). Over the past few years, he was one of the few people who shared nearly all of my adventures at home and abroad, for sure, because he was one of the few people who could sit through all of my boring slide shows and love them as if he had been there with me. - I'll miss that the most. I am ever so grateful to the rest of my family for being there when I could not. My love to all.

Bud, You added so much to so many lives, you were an excellent example of a man to emulate. You loved and served your country, loved and supported your family. You always made guests feel welcomed in your home. You loved the Lord, and lead us in grace at the table so beautifully. You are with God now, where you will live on in joy!

Dear Grandpa,
My Grandparents are/were so far away, it was so nice to have a Grandpa like you to fish with, work with and just plain be with. I will always take great pride in being "Your little gardener and your little mechanic." Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home, family and life so openly and warmly. You are truly my friend, My Grandpa.
