Charles Pell

Charles Pell, 84, passed away January 17, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on February 25, 1929 to Royce and Margaret (Walters) Pell. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Charles was a medic during the Korean Conflict. On June 28, 1959, Charlie was united in marriage to Janet Ramsey in Ellery, Illinois. Moving to Canon City in the early 1960's, he was one of the founding members of the Christian Family Fellowship. Charlie was the owner of Concrete Specialties Company. As a young man, he enjoyed flying his plane. He was a man of strong faith and integrity. Mr. Pell is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Cindy (Dave) Grooters, Anita (Randy) Barrett, and Scott (Patty) Pell; grandchildren, Luci and Olivia Grooters, Chris, Brittany, and Brody Barrett, and Maddie, Sophie, and Levi Pell; and siblings, Walter Webber, Juanita Berry, LaDonna Freeze, and Betty Green. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Linda KuydendallKay Kendall, Bonnie Ruth Walt, and Barbara McQueen. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Christian Family Fellowship, N. 10th and Monroe, in Canon City, CO. Pastor's Larry Chell and Bob Wahl will be officiating. Graveside service will follow Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City. Arrangements are under the care of Holt Family Funeral Home.
