Dorothy Snyder

"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters..." Those words were on Dorothy Snyder's lips more than 25,000 times, as she shared Psalm 23 with her husband Robert each and every evening of their 70 plus years of marriage. The Lord restored her soul, as He called her to dwell in the house of the Lord forever Saturday morning February 1, 2014 from Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was 89. Born July 17, 1924 she and her husband Robert L. Snyder moved to Colorad in 1970. The cabin they built at Coaldale was the furthest year-round residence up Hayden Pass. Together they owned and operated Shavano Glass, a glass and small engine shop, with Dorothy assisting Bob in all his ventures. For more than 30 years they were members of Cotopaxi Community Church and active in the Bible Study group. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Robert; their children Alicia & Harold Dailey, Tom & Terri Snyder and Cindy & Bob Dix all in Ohio and Laurie & Oren Hafey of Colorado Springs; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Visitation Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44904 (419-884-1711) where her funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
