John Marsicano

A much-loved husband, son, uncle, brother and friend, John Alway Marsicano, 69, passed away March 14, 2014. He was born Sept. 9, 1944, in Mineola, New York to Rosalind and Jack Marsicano. After graduating from Pearl River High school, Rockland County, New York, John served his country in the US Air Force. From 1966-1970, he was a Nuclear Weapons Specialist in the Vietnam War. After studying accounting at University of Northern Colorado he received a BA in business and a CPA certification. John began his career in 1974 working in Canon City, CO as public accountant for McDonald, Halbig & Associates. In 1976 he left to do general contracting and started a building construction business, MBC Homes. In 1986, he went back into accounting and was a controller and accountant for several companies, including Berry Motor Company and Colorado Silica Sand. His last position for 12 years was with Haddonstone, Inc., Pueblo, Colorado, as finance Director. John retired in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lori Marsicano, nephews, Nick (Jo Jo) Marsicano and Ben (Brittany) Marsicano; great- nieces and nephew Mackenzie, Conner, Avery and Reese Marsicano; sister in-law Debbie Marsicano; Cousin Kim Rinaman. John was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Drew Marsicano. John was a sailing enthusiast, and avid golfer. He loved to travel and vacation by the sea.
