Rudolph Schaarschmidt

Rudolph "Rudy" W. Schaarschmidt, 76 passed away December 7, 2013. He was born in Passaic, NJ, grew up in Carlstadt, he lived mostly in Passaic as he retired from the New Jersey Transit after 30 years employment. He moved to Colorado in 1994 and in 1996 joined the Deer Mountain Fire Dept. as a dedicated member being a first responder, fire fighter, ambulance driver and then served as Captain for the last several years until 2013. Rudy enjoyed Colorado living with all his dogs over the years, his mountain property, his ATV's, snowmobiles, Rhino ATV, Ford pick-up trucks, John Deere tractors and equipment, target shooting, bowling, hunting deer & elk (especially with his nephew Kenny Schwarz) and woodworking and all his tools. As a gun enthusiast and collector he was also a member of the NRA and belonged to various local clubs and organizations. Rudy is survived by his beloved wife Marie Halter Schaaarschmidt and were happily married the past 24 years; he is also survived by his sister, Sandra "Cookie" Cahill; daughters, Ann D'Adamo and Stephanie Parker; and step daughters, Roxann Ventrella and Linda Adamic; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Augusta "Gussie" (Blum) Schaarschmidt; his first wife of 30 years, Margaret "Margie" Yatsko Schaarschmidt; and sister, Lorraine Schwarz. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Cody Park Community Church, 0157 County Road 27A, Cotopaxi, CO 81223, (719) 942-3462.
