David Gardiner Hemming (8/6/1941 to 6/22/2013) of Denver, formerly of Costa Rica, died peacefully on June 22 at his home. Born in Stockton California, David was raised in Colorado Springs, and enlisted in the Navy after high school. He worked in electronics for a defense contractor before finding his true passion as a teacher. He taught high school science for 25 years in Cotopaxi, Colorado. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Costa Rica and lived in a traditional neighborhood outside of San Jose for 7 years. He valiantly dealt with pancreatic cancer for the last year and a half of his life. He is survived by his wife, Jean, his daughter Sarah and son Ethan and his two brothers, George and Bick. He will be greatly missed but we know he is already enjoying his next adventure. Donations can be made to Denver Hospice ( www.thedenverhospice.org ).
