Donald R. Lohnes, 82, passed away July 1, 2013 in Canon City, CO. Son of Harold and Marion (Webster) Lohnes, he was born June 16, 1931 in Bennington, VT. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed bowling, trapping, racing motorcycles, NASCAR, and collecting coins. Mr. Lohnes is survived by his brother, Charles Lohnes of Canon City; his children, Wanda (Jim) Duval, Mary Ann Shaw, and Donnie Lohnes all of Canon City, Norma (Ralph) Cipperly of Hoosick Falls, NY, Donna (Dean) Maxon of Berlin, NY, and Rick (Cindy) Lohnes of Virginia Beach, VA; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Deloris Babb. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Alvah. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Holt Chapel of the Garden at 806 Macon Avenue in Canon City, CO. Arrangements handled through Holt Family Funeral Home.
