Edna Pauline Church went to sleep and awoke in her Saviors arms on December 28, 2013 at the Vali Assisted Living in Westcliffe Colorado. Edna was born on June 14, 1920 in Forgan, Oklahoma to Joseph Edward Lile and Deliaha Jane (Powers) Lile. Edna married John Loy Church on December 1, 1936, in Salida, Colorado. They shared 46 years of marriage before John passed away in 1982. Three daughters were born from their union. Leaving to cherish her memory are Janice Maedean Gall (Bob), Sharon Paulette Estis (Jerry), and Marlyn Rose Smith (Walter). Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren loved her and fondly called her Grammie Church. Edna is also survived by two sisters, Estellene Head of Cortez, Colorado and Jaunita Tobin of Long Beach, California. Edna enjoyed her life as wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked many years as a LPN in the Salida and Pueblo Hospitals. She earned her Cosmetology license at age 50. Her hobbies were hunting arrowheads and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Edna was a member of the Cotopaxi Community Church for many years. A celebration of her life will be Monday, December 30, 11:00 am at the Cotopaxi Community Church. Interment will follow at the Howard Cemetery. Luncheon will be served for all at the church. Arrangements were with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida, Colorado.
