Edward Tezak Obituary
Edward Joseph Tezak Jr. (“Rapid Eddie”), 65, died on November 21, 2012, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was born April 18, 1947, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Edward Joseph Tezak Sr. and Elsie Marie (Ercul) Tezak. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Palulis) Tezak; children Daniel Edward (Shelli) Tezak of Canon City, and Rhonda Kaye (Steven) Lewis of Pueblo West; grandchildren, Kyndra and Bryce Tezak, Tiffaney Lewis, Stephanie (Chad) Pfeif; great grandchildren, Luke and Jennifer Smith; sisters, Carol Goss, Madeline Chambers; brothers, Jim Tezak, Bill Tezak and Mike Tezak; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ed and his brothers started Tezak Construction in the early 70's and became famous for doing much of the work on Wolf Creek Pass. After his first retirement in 1988, he purchased and restored the Robinson Mansion in Canon City. Upon completion of this project he started Tezak Heavy Equipment with his son and daughter in March of 1989. He continued with this until selling his interest in the company to his son in 1998. In the late 90's Ed started developing the land in the Canon City area, including Wolf Park and Dawson Ranch. Never one to retire, he started Rocky Mountain Landscape in 2009 as a means to occupy his time. He enjoyed dealing with his many customers and clients throughout the years. Ed loved the mountains and being outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and travel. He was a very generous man with the community. His philanthropic endeavors included St Michael Catholic Church, St Scholastica Academy and the Fremont County 4H as well as numerous other community projects. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at St Michael Catholic Church with interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ed's memory to either the Cotopaxi School or Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Arrangements handled through Holt Family Funeral Home.
