Thelma "Jo" Morey, 75, ascended into Heaven February 18, 2013. "You're journey is over. The time is at hand, for you to go to the Promised Land; no more worries, no more strife; may you have a peaceful life." Thelma was born March 25, 1937 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Thelma Crystal Wills and James Fredrick Olson. She graduated high school met and married Earl D. Morey in Lincoln, a marriage that lasted 57 years. As the wife of a military man, she was the "glue" that held the family together; strong and durable yet flexible when she needed to be She worked odd jobs on occasion but best of all she was "mom" and always there for her children. She was a life-long bowler and loved the camaraderie of the ladies she bowled with. When she experienced weakness in her right are this past year, she didn't give up, she taught herself to bowl with her left arm because she loved the game so much. When she was not bowling she enjoyed puttering around in her flower garden; and would share cuttings with anyone who was interested. She traveled with her husband extensively. For their 50th wedding anniversary her children sent them on a European vacation. She loved her dogs, from her first dog as child "Max" to her current dogs, "Gus" and "Foxy". She is survived by her husband Earl Morey; daughters, Earlene and Yvonne; her son, Earl Jr.; grandchildren, Brian, Jason and Rachel; sisters, Eldora Carter, of Lincoln, NE., Ronda Thomas, of Hemet, CA.; brother Cecil J. Olson, of Desoto, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Jeremiah. She will truly be missed and will always be in the hearts of her children and those who knew and loved her. In Lieu of cards and flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the ASPCA or Humane Society, since Mom loved animals so much.
