Wesley Sneddon Obituary
Wesley (Wes) T. Sneddon, passed away on November 3, 2013 at the age of 92. Wes was born to Walter and Ida Sneddon, in Salida on November 26th, 1920. He graduated from Salida High School in 1937 and joined the US Navy soon afterwards. He served through WWII and the Korean Conflict, retiring from the Navy at the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 1959. While stationed in Corpus Christi Texas, he met and married the love of his life, Ruth Mable Schaffner on December 1st 1945. After retirement from service to his country, he moved his family to Boulder, CO where he owned and operated a prototype machine shop, and was involved in custom development of many high tech "space age " projects. "Sned", as he was known to his friends and associates was highly credited for his abilities to produce extraordinarily precision parts. After more than ten years, he sold his business and once again retired, relocating to a beautiful mountain home in Maysville, just West of Salida. He and his wife eventually needed to make the move in the mid 80's to Canon City, where he spent the remainder of his life. Mr. Sneddon was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Maxine Bell and Yvonne Jolliffe. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, his son Walter Sneddon of Salida and daughter Mary Rozaklis of Boulder, four Grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday November 8, 2013 at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
