Robert Royall Obituary
On November 9, 2012 cancer took the beautiful life of Bob Royall. He died peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Bob was born in Abilene Texas February 25, 1941 to Valton Eugene Royall and Mary Kathryn McLeod. Bob was an E-5 in the 101st Airborne Infantry of the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He was recalled to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bob was a self-made man and entrepreneur. Bob started working at a very young age. He did many things in his youth from pouring asphalt, delivering milk and bread, to selling insurance. In later years he started several successful businesses, including Cost Savers, Royal Enterprises, and B & B Western Wear. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and was always up for an adventure. He was passionate about fishing, hunting, and camping, as well as Texas Hold 'Em. One of his biggest joys in his later years was being a professional Santa at Christmas. His bigger than life personality will be missed by his loving wife Betti, brothers; Darrel Huddlston, Galen Shores, Terry Shores, sisters; Linda MacDaniel and Jeanie Latrop, children; Robert Royall, Rene Lee, Carl Royall, Robin Chavez, stepchildren; Mike Steel, Shawna Collier, and Tom Steel. He was also survived by thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Shores, stepfather, Harold (Jack) Shores, father, Valton Royall, and brother Donald. A private celebration of his life was held on Sunday November 11th with family and close friends. In Honor of his memory donations may be sent to the .
