Elizabeth Clayburn Obituary
Elizabeth Jane (Toliver) Clayburn peacefully passed away in her beloved home at the Legacy Center in Canon City on Oct. 15, 2013 with her two daughters at her side. Jane was born on April 11th, 1929 in Ft. Collins, Co. to F.L. and Morna Toliver. She graduated from Ft. Collins H.S in 1947, and attended Colorado State Teacher's College, then graduated from DU. She married Clifford H. Clayburn on Aug. 9th, 1953. They had two daughters, Janice Louise and Jean Irene. Jane enjoyed spending time at the Toliver family cabin up the Big Thompson Canyon with her friends and family. She and her husband lived in Arvada and owned ClayBurn Ceramics for almost 20 years, sharing her love and knowledge of the craft with both kids and adults. She also enjoyed talking with people and selling her beautiful pieces at the many craft shows she attended. Jane is survived by daughters, Janice L. (Mike) Morgan and Jean I. (Pat) Callahan, 5 grandchildren, Shanna (Dan) Ranous, Kendra (Brad) Ficek, Garrett Morgan, Sean Callahan and Meghan (Drew) Nelson. She also has 7 great grandchildren; Kailyn, Kirianne, and Kinsley Ranous, Charlie and Callie Nelson, and Caleb and Hudson Ficek. She is survived by 3 of her siblings, Ruth Toliver, Winnie Johnson, and Tom (Irene) Toliver. Her husband of 52 years, Cliff, her parents, and her four older siblings, preceded her in death. Services will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary chapel at 104th and I-25 in Thornton on Tuesday, Oct. 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Legacy Center of Canon City, 1335 Bauer Lane Canon City, CO 81212. Arrangements are under the care of Holt Family Funeral Home.
