Ray Pitts Obituary
Raymond Pitts was born March 7, 1945 in Porum, Oklahoma. Raymond was born three months premature and came into this world exactly how he lived, with great determination and a love of life. He was born to Robert and Lorene (Edwards) Pitts and was one of fourteen children. Ray found his love for the drilling business. He was passionate about his work which afforded him the opportunity to take his skills to Massachusettes, New Mexico, Colorado, California, and Utah. He was a wealth of knowledge in his industry and enjoyed teaching others about what he had learned. Ray was known for his green thumb and could turn any yard into an oasis. He found great joy in gardening and could make things grow in any climate. Ray's personality filled the room and his laughter was his calling card. He was known for his sense of humor and his hospitality. Ray leaves behind his wife of 31 years Julie (Jenkins) Pitts, three children Steven Pitts, Diana (Josh) Trainor, and Shara Elliott. He was a beloved grandfather to Stephanie Pitts, Nicholas Pitts, Luke Trainor and Olivia Elliott. Ray leaves behind four living brothers and three living sisters and countless neices and nephews and loving family members. Ray fought a gallant fight but lost his battle to cancer on December 1, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He will be missed by so many and remembered by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Utah Food Bank 1025 S. 700 West, Salt Lake City, Utah 84104 or the Humane Society of Utah, 4242 South 300 West, Murray, Utah 84107 Condolences can be left at www.GarnerFuneral.com
