Mary Dangelo Obituary

Mary Catherine (Kaser) Dangelo
Mary Dangelo was taken peacefully by the Lord in her sleep on Oct. 21, 2012, at the age of 90. She was born on Oct. 29, 1921, in Sugarcreek, Ohio, to the late Emanuel A. and Alice L. (Bellman) Kaser. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patsy, 'Pat' P. Dangelo, with whom she shared a happy and fulfilling marriage of 44 years. Since his passing a little over four years ago, Mary has enjoyed a happy and content life at Kroft Commons-Chapel Hill, Canal Fulton. She was especially proud of her condo and the many friends she made while living there; and her family endearing called her the 'condo queen.' She made many friends while at Chapel Hill – especially her dear neighbors, Glenn and Millie Royer and Bob Frey – sharing her daily lunches with them; playing bingo and euchre, and participating in the many sponsored events that were held throughout the year and during holiday seasons. Mary enjoyed the holidays and local parties she shared with her daughter's family at Portage Lakes and made many friends there who fondly remember her as being feisty and fun loving – always joking and bantering back and forth with them at various parties, get-togethers and Howie's. She had a zest for life, and we will dearly miss her spontaneous humor; sassy summer swims in her granddaughter's pool; her loving connection with the family pets (although we were never able to talk her into getting one); her insistence on wearing 'bling'; and her tranquil moments looking out at the water and wild life at Portage Lakes. Although she dearly missed her husband, Pat, her time was fulfilled as much as possible until her passing. Most of her life she was a homemaker; however, she and her loving sister, Irene, were proud to serve as part of the 'Rosie the Riveter' culture during World War II. Along with her husband, she was preceded by the untimely death of her son, Vaughn B. Kibler; her sisters, Irene Dangelo and Opal Arsuffi; brothers, Arthur and Harold Kaser.
She leaves behind to cherish her love, laughter and memories her beloved daughter and caregiver, Linda (Thomas) Riegler, and Linda's daughters – fondly referred to as 'the girls' , Wendy Harter and Angela (Kenny) Glick; brother-in-law, Dominic Dangelo; and sisters-in-law, Arlene and Bernice Kaser. She is also survived by Vaughn's children, David and Lenay, and also her eldest son, Eugene (Carol) Wilds, Jr. and their children, Eugene III, Heath, Heather, Melisa, Jacob and Catherine, along with nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all of those at Kroft Commons- Chapel Hill who were part of making her remaining years happy and fruitful. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Chapel Hill Retirement Community, 12200 Strausser St. NW, Canal Fulton, OH 44614; the Susan G. Komen for the Cure; or the charity of your choice.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home, Canton, Ohio. A Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summitville with Rev. Fr. James Lang as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery in Summitville, Ohio.

My sympathy to the family of Mary. It was a pleasure to know Mary, if only a small bit through my mother-in-law, Audrey. The obituary in the paper was lovely and just touched on the life of a beautiful lady...we called her Pretty Mary...she will be missed by all who knew her, hold close those wonderful memories . May she rest in peace.

A very loving mother and protector of her children. I was very happy for her that she found an abundance of togetherness in her life. (It's an understatement to coin her as feisty and committed to life). I love you dearly mother. Eugene F. Wilds
