Martin Sherman Albright
72, of Malvern passed away Monday, Dec. 26th, 2011 at Aultman Hospital, following a sudden illness. Martin was born in Carroll County, Ohio on Dec. 20, 1939, the son of John and Mary (Dickerhoof) Albright. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was the owner of Albright Animal Control for 35 years. He also worked for 21 years as X-ray head technician at Weber Dental Manufacturing; 10 years as a yardman at Crowl Lumber; 1 year as a laborer for the Hoover Company; and for 4 years as a laborer for Rose Township. He worked for many years as an Ohio Bureau of Employment Services Disabled Veteran Representative. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, life member of National Trappers Association, life member of Ohio State Trappers Association, Boy Scout Counselor-Malvern Troop 155, Malvern Jaycees, Carroll County Coon Hunters Club, Prosperity Fox Hunters, and served 18 years on the Carroll County Veterans Service Commission Board.
Martin is survived by his mother, Mary (Dickerhoof) Albright of Waynesburg; his wife of 45 years, Esther Sue (Felton) Albright; a son, Martin H. (Dardi) Albright of Minerva; two daughters, Dawn M. Kaufman of Malvern, Jennifer A. (Rich) Gross of Lewis Center, Ohio; grandchildren, Margo Albright, Ashley Kerr, Morgan Albright, Josh Kerr, Emily Kaufman, Donald Gross, Jack Gross; three brothers, George J. (Margaret) Albright of North Canton, Ohio, John T. (Jody) Albright of Waynesburg, Ohio, Glenn E. (Vickie) Albright of Magnolia, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his father, John C. Albright, a brother Clement Michael Albright and sister Betty Albright.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 with Celebrants Fr. Victor Cinson and Fr. Matthew Albright. Calling hours will be held Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. A vigil prayer service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
