Herbert C. Archer
85 of Canal Fulton died Sunday, June 23, 2013. Herbert was born in Caldwell, Ohio on Feb. 23, 1928 to the late Earl E. and Ida M. (Sorg) Archer and had been a Stark County resident for 64 years. He drove school bus for 17 years with the Northwest Local School District and retired from Superior Meats after 31 years of service. Herb was a member of Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church, Canal Fulton, the Knights of Columbus and was a social member of VFW #9795, Canal Fulton.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gladys M. (Crock) Archer; six children, Thomas (Martha) Archer, Diane Cirone, Sandra (Timothy) Linnan, David Archer, Jeffrey Archer and Michael (Kathy) Archer; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Herb was the youngest and last of six brothers.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be THURSDAY, June 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church, 412 N. High Street, Canal Fulton with Fr. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael Church Cemetery, Carlisle, Ohio. Friends may call, WEDNESDAY 5-8 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry Street (Rte. 93, Canal Fulton). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church.

Gladys and family, What a wonderful family you are and such a sweet and loving father Herb was. We have so many fun memories growing up together as kids!! Gladys & Family, I will always have fond memories of Herb as our bus driver. He was always so patient waiting the bus for the last of the Remark kids to run back for something we just had to have for school. You are all in our prayers.
