Blecker, Susan M.  
Susan M. Blecker Age 58, formerly of Canton, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, in Mesa, Ariz., after an extended illness. She was born in Canton, Ohio, on June 20, 1957, to the late, William and Patricia (Kostelaz) Blecker. Susan was a graduate of Perry High School and Timken Mercy School of Practical Nursing. Susan is survived by her sister, Patrice (Blecker) Young of Massillon; and her brother and sister-in-law, David and Laura Blecker of Gilbert, Ariz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (4940 Tuscarawas St. West, Canton 44708) on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. G. David Weikart, as celebrant. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to RDS Research. Services under the direction of the Mark R. Vrabel Funeral Home of North Canton, Ohio (330-452-4041).

Brinker, Warren L.  
Warren L. Brinker 67, formerly of East Greenville and Massillon, passed away on June 23, 2015, at his home in Zephyrhills, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd L. Brinker and mother, Eileen Nicewander. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; three sons, Brian Brinker of Zanesville, James Brinker and Warren Brinker both of Zephyrhills, Fla.; six grandchildren; his sister, Sandi (John) Brakus of Canton; step-father, Don Nicewander; and four step-sisters: Marie Steiner, Cindy Dorman, Vicky Miller and Mary Reynolds. Backus, Mary A.  
Mary A. Backus 77 of Massillon, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Mary was born on Aug. 1, 1937 in Massillon the daughter of the late Louis Kouth and Mary E. (Harmon) Backus. Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1955 graduate of Brewster High School. Following graduation she attended Ohio University and obtained a Cadet Teacher's certificate. She worked at many places throughout her life, but primarily taught at the North Lawrence and Massillon School Districts. Mary enjoyed spending time helping family members and worshiping and serving at Justus U.M.C. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Backus in 2006 and her grandson Adam Backus. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael (Marsha) Backus, Jeffrey Backus, Scot Backus, Doug (Donna) Backus, Bradley (Megan Gutshall) Backus, and Julie (Jamie) Hamilton; her brothers, Richard Allen Kouth and William John (Mary Sue) Kouth; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Mary's life will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Justus U.M.C.: 11771 Navarre Rd. SW Navarre, OH 44662. Rev. Brian Allen officiating. Baker, Wilda Fern  
Wilda Fern (Landers) Baker New Franklin- On Monday, July 20, 2015, Wilda Fern (Landers) Baker, age 88, passed away peacefully in the presence of her son, Martin and his girlfriend, Becky, after a lengthy illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Fern will be deeply missed by all. Fern was born to Dewey V. and Mae Jewel (Wilson) Landers of Spruce Pine, Ala. She graduated from Timken Vocational School class of 1945. Upon graduation, Fern opened her own beauty shop in downtown Canton, Ohio. She later became a modeling coach and self-improvement coach for Jane Skinner Modeling Agency, a personal development coach and modeling instructor for John Robert Powers Agency, an assistant director for Bon Chic as well as a beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Fern was also known for her green thumb and beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed extensive travel, bingo and spending time with her family. Fern is survived by her sons, William Sherman Baker Jr. (Judy Wade) of Phoenix, Arizona and Martin A. Baker (girlfriend, Becky Race) of New Franklin, Ohio; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Fern is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Sherman Baker; brother, Dewey V. Landers Jr. (Mary Alice); and sister, Rita Mae Tripathy (Dr. Ghana Shyam “Sam”). A heartfelt and sincere thank you to the wonderful administration, staff and residents at Rose Lane Nursing Home and Sprenger Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion for Fern and her family. Friends and family can call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the funeral home with Minister Randy Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

Bowser, Raymond E.  
Raymond E. Bowser age 93, of North Canton, went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2015. He was born Nov. 12, 1921 in Somerset, Pa. to the late Harvey and Susan Bowser. Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army, as well as a Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. He was employed at Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and AT&T. Raymond was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, where he helped develop Camp Wakonda. He was a Boy Scout Leader for 15 years, a member of the Buckeye Cruisers Camping Club, and helped with the Canton Telephone Pioneers Toys of Love. Raymond loved spending time with his family and traveled frequently with his wife, Ruth. Besides his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Steve Bowser. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth; three children, Rebecca Lewis, Charlotte Gordon, and Richard Bowser; daughter-in-law, Rosie Ammond-Bowser; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Midge Schemansky. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior from 12-1 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church (530 Tuscarawas St. W Canton, OH 44702). Pauline N. Brainard 89, passed away July 21, 2015. Born in Rootstown, Ohio July 27, 1925 to Alvin and Sarah Silknitter, she was an area resident all of her life. Pauline was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Wile and Walter Brainard; and son, Ronald Wile.
