Snyder, Donna R.  
Donna R. Snyder 88, of Amsterdam passed away Sunday evening April 19, 2015 at Woodlawn Care Center in Canton. A daughter of the late Harry and Leona Allen Moore, she was born March 1, 1927 in Amsterdam, Ohio. Donna worked as a high school teacher retiring from Edison Schools after 28 years. She was a member of the Amsterdam United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Unionport Easter Star, and the Amsterdam Jolly Mixers. She is survived by her son, Mike (Debbie) Snyder of Amsterdam; daughter, Pat McAbier of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Mike McAbier of Carrollton, Beth (Justin) Jones of Cincinnati, Kylie (Scott) Ringhiser of Grove City, Tommy Snyder of Grove City; and three great grandchildren, Alexa, Nate, and Luke. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, in 1973 and a sister, June Liveley. A celebration of Donna's life will be Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Amsterdam United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam. Stick, Ellen (McCullough)  
Ellen (McCullough) Stick 92, died Friday April 3, 2015 at Rose Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She leaves her husband of 70 years, John Stick; her son, John Alan (Claudette) Stick; two granddaughters, Megan Stick and Mary Katherine Stick; a nephew, Frank (Lucy) Cook; nieces, Rebecca Cook (David) Foote, Linda McCullough (Derek) Taylor, Janice McCullough (David) Dunwoody and their children, Robin, Hannah, Neive, and Ross. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland the daughter of William and Agnes (Allen) McCullough, Ellen was a war bride and came to America on the Queen Mary in 1946. She was an accomplished pianist with a scholarship to Trinity College in London, which afforded her a position as a private classical piano instructor for many years in her home. An avid tennis player and fan, Ellen played on several semi-professional teams into her late 70's and never missed watching Wimbledon on television. A Memorial Service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday April 25 at Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Lalama officiating. Ellen has been laid to rest with her son, David at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Following services an old fashioned Irish wake will be held to celebrate a life well lived. Strader, Charles G.  
Charles G. Strader age 86, of Richville died Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Mercy Medical Center. Born October 4, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the late Oval and Katherine (Rinehart) Strader. He was a Richville resident for the past 50 years and was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. Charles was a retired automobile parts manager. He was a member of VFW Post #5047 Navarre. Preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Strader in 2009; four brothers and seven sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Dorenda Bracken of Louisville, Lucinda Silver of Massillon; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles II and Diana Strader of Malvern; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Arlie Strader of Richville. Funeral services will be Monday, April 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery. Strain, Catherine  
Catherine E. Strain 1921-2015 was born to Isham and Minnie Kimbrough in Marenga County, Ala. She was a member of the Bethel CME Church of Canton, and was the best member of the Hattie Brown Women's Federated Club. Mrs. Strain was a resident of Canton for 48 years. She taught in the Canton Public Schools (Lathrop, Martin Elementary, Hartford Jr. High and McKinley Sr. High School). She served as Director of PACS (Program for Academic Excellence). She was a graduate of Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama, an alumni of Kent State University, and she also graduated and worked at The University of Akron and the University of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Strain was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Isham Jr., Sylvester, Elvin, Leroy, Tommie and Calvin.; one sister, Mattie Carr. She is survived by her daughter, Lenora; and her son, Raymond both of Canton, as well as her son, Douglas Strain of Gastonia, N.C. ; two granddaughters, Catherine and Keisha; two grandsons, Raymond Strain and Leroy Huntley; as well as her great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Kimbrough of Columbus, Ohio. 'Aunt Kitty' as she was called, maintained close family ties with many nephews, nieces and cousins. She is loved by many residents of Canton and with many she offered tutoring and guidance throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Bethel CME Church, 1903 Second St. N.E., Canton, Ohio 44704. Visitation will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Bethel CME Church, and one hour prior to service. Reverend Anthony Copeland will be eulogizing.
