Buxton, Wilbur Gene  
Wilbur Gene Buxton 1938-2015; of Canton, Ohio Age 77, of Canton died Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Aultman Compassionate Care Centre following an extended illness. Born July 24, 1938, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Luther and Ada (McCarty) Buxton. He was a life resident of Canton; and a 1956 graduate of Canton South High School. Gene was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He retired from the Timken Company in 1997 with 41 years of service. He attended Northwest Church of Christ and was a member of Golden Lodge Local Union #1123, Canton South AARP #4885 and the Canton South Athletic Boosters. Preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Dwight Buxton. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara H. (McNutt) Buxton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Christine and Dr. Patrick Garrett III of Palm Coast, Fla., Laura and Mark Zieg of Kissimmee, Fla., Joyce and Michael DeCicco of Warrington, Pa.; six grandchildren:, Patrick IV and Michael Garrett, Jonathan and Christopher Zieg, David and Nathaniel DeCicco; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Nancy Buxton of Canton; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave., with Lance Lindenberger officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Cogan, Martha Jean  
Martha Jean Cogan Age 95, of Minerva, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 in the Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in Canton to Charles and Blanche Waefler. She and her husband owned the Maple Drive Dairy Farm near East Rochester. She was a 9 year employee of the former Fair Store and managed, then owned Hill's Shoe Store in Minerva for 25 years. She is a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist and a life member of the Bayard Grange and a member of the SWRM club. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Cogan who died in 1993; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Libby Waefler ;and recently her beloved cat Squeeky. She is survived by a daughter, Christine (Chris) Powell of Zoar; son, Vaughn (Susan) Cogan of Carrollton; two grandchildren, Melinda (Aaron) Abrahamson and Dawn (Mick) Malcom; and five great-grandchildren: Morgan and Andrew Abrahamson, Avery, Madilyn and Kaylor Malcom. Per her wishes, a graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at East Lawn Cemetery. Combs, Robert Bob Bradley  
Robert “Bob” Bradley Combs 1948-2015; of Merritt Island, Fla. Born Aug. 8, 1948, Bob passed away Aug. 3, 2015, in Merritt Island, Fla., from complications following a heart attack. He died with his children, Robert Combs and Tracy Green; and two of his best friends, Brenda and Elliott Leadley at his bedside. Bob was a brilliant carpenter and craftsman. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and watching Redbox movies. He is preceded in death by his father, Victor Combs; and brother, Dennis Combs. He is survived by his mother, Betty Combs; sisters, Linda Huffman, Sue Shepherd, and Tina Combs; his children, Robert and Tracy; ex-wife, Shirley Flesher; grandsons: Bradley Combs, Samuel Gansen, Christian Green, and Carter Green; and many nieces and nephews. Please join the family for a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Aug. 30th., with a celebration of his life immediately following at VFW Post 3747, 1935 Avalon Ave. N.E. Contos, Lillian (Bingle)  
Lillian (Bingle) Contos age 88, passed away on August 23, 2015. She was of Presbyterian Faith and was an avid dog lover. She was a graduate of McKinley High School, class of 1945 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Lillian also played drums in the marching band for four years. After graduation, she worked in the mailing department of the Hoover Company and also in the office of the Livingston Furniture Company. She was a member of the North Canton Lady Elks #2029 and the AARP. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Bill Bingle; her husband, George to whom she was married 56 years; her beloved son, Daniel; her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Philip Masalko; and a great-nephew, Jeffrey Sedlock; and her beloved little dog, Tina. She is survived by her two sons, Bill and George; and daughter-in-law, Renee. Also a special niece, Judy Masalko-Kendle and her fiancé, Jerry Sedlock; six grandchildren, Angela, Laura, Julie, Haley, Brandi, and Derek; two great-grandchildren, Marissa and Brandon; and her faithful companion, Teddy. Lillian was a home body and enjoyed being out in her yard, working around her flowers and spending time with her dogs. She loved to read mystery books when could find the time and her favorite TV show was NCIS. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and all their family at get togethers. Cottrill Sr., Daniel D.  
Daniel D. Cottrill Sr. 1944-2015 age 71, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Aug. 27, Born on June 17, 1944 to the late Otis D. and Dale E. Cottrill of Massillon. Dan attended Washington High School and founded Danny's Trucking, followed by Cottrill Wrecking Co. in 1971. He was involved with trucking and wrecking his entire life and could never give up his involvement when he should have been enjoying his retirement years. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing but his health has declined over the years making it difficult to enjoy any outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Norma Jean Cottrill and mother-in-law, Marie Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Linda, whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on Dec. 29, 2014; son, Daniel D Cottrill Jr. and fiancé, Julie Crouch; daughter and son-in-law, Shelley D and John S. Furscik Jr.; brother, David L. Cottrill, all of Massillon and half sister, Betty Hebb of Shinnston, W.Va. He leaves a grieving Chow named Banchi as well as numerous friends. Per Daniels wishes, there will be no calling hours and a private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family. Dan was a Christian man who embraced his Savior, Jesus Christ fervently. Curlutu, Helen  
Helen (Geniatakis) Curlutu age 84 of Canton, passed away early Friday morning. Born in Canton to the late Nicholas and Irene (Contzidakis) Geniatakis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy, siblings, Mary Paterakis, Jim Genis, Gust Games, George, Tony and John Genis and Paul Geniatakis. Helen was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. Survived by her brother, Minos Nick (Angeline) Geniatakis; sisters-in-law, Emily Genis, Helen Games, numerous nieces and nephews. Helen will be remembered as a loving and giving person devoted to her husband, family, and friends. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr.
