Goist, Frederick  
Frederick 'Ted' O. Goist age 84 passed away on May 13, 2015. He was born in Hubbard, Ohio to the late Leonard and Mildred Goist on April 05, 1931. He married Ruth Riley on April 12, 1958 and they shared nearly 55 years together until her passing in 2013. He proudly served his country as Seabee in the Navy during the Korean War. Ted worked for The Beaver Excavating Company for over 30 years as the Maintenance Supervisor. He enjoyed farming, his grandchildren and his John Deere Tractors. He is survived by his children, Karen (Keith) Thomas, Deborah (Rob) Floyd and James Goist; his grandchildren Jacob, Kyle, Hayley, and Matthew Goist; his great-granddaughter Maci Goist; his sisters, Sally (Ralph) Cunningham; Betsy (David) Ohlin and his brother Richard (Jan) Goist. In addition to his wife and parents, Ted was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Donna Goist. In accordance with Ted's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Donations can be made in Ted's memory to a charity of one's choice. Gordon, Kenneth  
Kenneth L. Gordon age 87, of Louisville, passed away Saturday May 16, 2015. He was born in Louisville, Ohio Dec. 5, 1927 to the late Lloyd and Lillie (Snyder) Gordon. Ken was a 1945 graduate of Louisville High School. He was the owner of the former Gordon TV and Appliance of Louisville. Ken was a WWII Army Air Corp. Veteran and he was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville. Ken is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Charlotte) Gordon, Tim (Kathleen) Gordon and Terry (Susie) Gordon; a granddaughter, Annie Gordon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella in 2010; and a sister, Dorothy Holzwarth. Ken's wishes were to be cremated, with no services. Grant, Effie  
Effie Grant age 88 of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015, after a brief illness in Aultman hospital. She was born on Dec. 9, 1926 in Weirton, West Va. to Charles and Evelyn O'Neal. She retired from Aultman Hospital in 1988 after working 34 years. Effie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served on the Senior Usher Board. She also served as Secretary of the Canton Chapter of the Alabama Green County Civic and Social Club for many years. Effie was previous married to William Edward Mayo and five children were born to the union. Effie later married Jesse Grant and they shared more than 30 happy years together until his death in 2010. Also preceded in death by her parents, son Edward E. Mayo and infant daughter Marlene Mayo. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Larry (Rebecca) Mayo; daughters, Angeline (Charles) Hall and Patricia Renfro, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 1844 Ira Turpin Way N.E. Pastor Richard L. Jordan, Eulogizing. Gray, Josephine  
Josephine McMillen Gray Passed away at Altercare of Louisville, at 4:30 a.m., on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the age of 100 years and 6 months as of May 13, 2015. Many thanks to the wonderful staff. She came up from Florida, in Sept. 2013, to be near her daughter, Diane 'Nellie' Gray (Scott) Barnes, and her family. She is also survived by her sons, Guy M. Gray and Gary G. Gray, and their families. Mrs. Gray lived in the greater West Palm Beach, Florida area for over 50 years. She was born in Wichita, Kansas on Nov. 13, 1914. She asked to be taken back to Florida, where she will be in heaven with her other daughter, Martha Jane Gray Griffith. Other relatives include, Irene and Tom Kimmons of Navarre, Niels and Cat Olsen of Evanston, Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Olsen. There are no services planned in Ohio. Guinther Sr., Richard  
Richard L. 'Butch' Guinther Sr. Age 75, of Canton died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center following an extended illness. Born July 24, 1939 in Canton, Ohio to the late Richard J. and Mary Alice (Strong) Guinther. He was a life resident of Canton. Butch retired from Precision Hard Chrome in 2001 and was formerly employed by the Canton Motor Speedway. Preceded in death by his wife, Norma Guinther in 2008; three brothers, Robert and Jim Guinther, David Bruder; one infant sister; step- father, George Bruder; step-mother, Edith Guinther. He is survived by one daughter and her companion, Pam Guinther and Tom Gray of Canton; one son, Richard L. Guinther Jr. of Canton; several step-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Ross of Canton; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Cheryl Bruder of Oak Harbor, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; his canine companions, Buddy and Tinker. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Deacon David Kenney officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Haas, Patricia L.  
Patricia L. Haas age 89, died peacefully on Mother's Day, May 10, 2015 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 24, 1926 in Braddock, Pa., the daughter of John and Leona Fearon. Her family later moved to Strasburg, Ohio where she graduated from Strasburg High School. Patricia was a licensed real estate agent in Stark County for many years and was employed by Massillon State Hospital for ten years. She was an avid reader and loved antiques and decorating. Patricia was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society. Along with her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard, John, Henry, Hugh, Leo, and Alfred, and a sister, Marie Mauck. She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Chuck) Baltzer, Diane Chaplin (Pat), Trisha (Ken) Wohlheter, David (Chris) Haas, all of Navarre, Ohio; Debbie (Terry) Hogan of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Stephanie Gallagher of Bratenahl, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A funeral mass will be at Holy Family Parish (formerly St. Clement Catholic Church), 202 East Wooster Street, Navarre, Ohio, Tuesday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in her name to the Navarre branch of the Massillon Public Library or the American Diabetes Association. Herrmann Jr., William  
William H. Herrmann, Jr. 76, of Canton, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015. William was born on October 10, 1938 in Massillon, the son of William H. and Lauretta (Gaupel) Herrmann, Sr. Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1956 graduate of Washington High School. He worked at Quality Dairy as a truck driver. Bill loved 50's music, especially Elvis. He loved Western movies, classic cars, and watching wildlife. Most of all Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Dendy L. (Geis) Herrmann, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; his children, Tondra L. (Vincent) Smith-Mulloy and William H. (Maria) Herrmann III; and his grandchildren, Joshua (Charlie Willis) and Chelsea Smith and Zoe Herrmann. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. Herzog, Gerald  
Gerald "Jerry" Herzog who resided in Fernandina Beach, Fla., died Friday, May 8, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. after a valiant fight against cancer. Jerry was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1943 to Henry and Helen Herzog. A graduate of Nova University, Jerry also served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked in Cincinnati, Ohio and Orlando Fla. for AT&T, 19 years, until returning to Canton, Ohio. In Canton, he worked for Stark County and Canton City Schools until retirement. He retired to Amelia Island, Fla., with his wife, Jane, where he loved beach walking, golf and his new role as 'grandpa on call'. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joanne Kipp; and brother, Richard Herzog. Jerry is survived by his wife, Jane (Garofalo); his son, Jerry Herzog (Danielle Romary); his daughters, Angela Huntington (Miles) and Amy Garza (Frank); his seven grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Helen Garofalo. He is also survived by his brother, Ron Herzog (Marsha) of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Charlene Herzog of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara (Marcello) Frustaci; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Debbie) Garofalo, Carl (Cathy) Garofalo, Michael (Valerie) Garofalo; and many beloved nieces, nephews. Family and friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr.
