Anna L. Titmas
Age 103, beloved Mother, Aunt, Grandmother and friend to her family and acquaintances, passed away Dec. 28, 2012, at The Regency in Canton where she made her home for the past 15 years. She was born July 8, 1909 in Canton, to her parents, the late, Ernest and Helen (Young) Gerber. Ann graduated from McKinley Senior High School in 1927; and attended Canton Actual Business College. She lived in Cleveland and Columbus in addition to Dallas, Texas, and Washington, D.C., prior to returning to Canton. She worked for various government agencies and attorneys and retired as secretary to the Fifth District Court of Appeals in 1974. She was a member of the Church of the Covenant. She enjoyed years of traveling, reading, golfing and Sunday afternoon boat rides on Lake Cable. Her most important interest to her dying day was as an avid bridge player and scorekeeper. Ann's family would like to thank the staff of Northeast Professional Homecare who provided care, support and friendship over the past few years. Special appreciation to the devotion and concern showed by the Northeast staff and Aultman Hospice these past few months. These caring people made the final days much easier for Ann and her family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Titmas (1987); sisters and brothers-in law: Kathleen Harvey (1999), Arthur Harvey (1972), Jean Johnston (1997) and George Johnston (2004). She is lovingly survived by her nephews, Thomas (Sally) Johnston, Ned (Barbara) Harvey; children, Betty Schwarz (Tom Lilly), John (Karin) Titmas and James Titmas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel, 705 Raff Rd S.W., with Rev. William R. Watt officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
