Anna Mae Anania
age 84, of North Canton, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Laurels of Massillon following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Massillon on Dec. 31, 1928 to the late, Clarence and Mary Hummel. Anna was a graduate of Massillon Washington High School and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dog Sylvia. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Anania in 1977; her brother, Albert Hummel; and her sister, Marjorie Summers.
Survivors include her children, Daniel (Lavonne) Anania of Dublin, Ohio, Nick Anania of Massillon and Amy (Robert) Bolan of North Canton; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her siblings, Rita Jamison of Perry Twp., David Hummel of Canton and Dennis Hummel of Uhrichsville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert Lanterman as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her name, to the , the or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
