Anne Salopek (Bartko)
Age 92, of Mooresville, N.C., formally of Massillon and Canton, Ohio, Chicago, Ill., and San Jose, Calif., passed away April 8, 2014. She was born May 14, 1921, in Massillon, Ohio to the late Matthew and Susie Bartko. Her life carried her to various locations including California where she accompanied her husband.
She eventually landed in Massillon, Ohio, where she worked at Superior Dairy; and was a loving wife to her husband Tony; and a dedicated mother to her daughter, Charlotte. She was a hard worker who enjoyed gardening, but her biggest enjoyment was traveling with her husband and watching him play bass guitar in a polka band. In her later years, she moved to North Canton, Ohio, and was surrounded by family and friends until she moved to Charlotte, N.C. with her grandson. Anne enjoyed people and seemed to always touch people in a special way. Her kind and genuine demeanor was almost contagious as all those who knew her constantly remarked about how much they enjoyed her presence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters; and her only child, Charlotte Rastetter. She is survived by grandson, Rob Rastetter (Angie) of Mooresville, N.C.; and her two nieces, Pat Getz and Cindi Wingate, both of Canton, Ohio.
Private funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 18th., at Sunset Hills Burial Park. No calling hours will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the
in honor of her daughter Charlotte who lost a battle with cancer ten years ago.
