age 78, of North Canton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. He was born May 3, 1934 in Canton, Ohio to the late Willard and Clara (Glanzman) Edwards. He was a US Army veteran who served as a Specialist 3rd Class from 1956 to 1961. Arthur worked for Ohio Battery and Ignition; Motorola; and was the owner of Whipple Office Supply for 10 years. He also worked in law enforcement and security for Village of Hills and Dales and North Canton Police Departments; Stark County Sheriff Department and Walden Security. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Lutheran Church in North Canton; Lutheran Bowling League; Lathrop Lodge #676; and a 32nd Degree Mason, Canton Lodge.
In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Helen (Jones) Edwards in 2011. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Rick Black and Bonnie and John Farmer; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Brigid Edwards; grandkids, Stephanie Jones, Justin Holl, Andrew, Nathan and Rebekah Edwards and James Farmer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 349 Lindy Lane NW, North Canton, OH 44720 with Rev. Mark Sherwindt and Rev. Ralph Edwards officiating. Friends may call Friday, 5-8 p.m. in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home and one hour before services (10-11 a.m.) Saturday at the church.
