Carl D. Cochran
age 83 of Canton passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Glen and Fawn Cochran. Carl was a graduate of Lincoln High School, a Korean War veteran and a member of the Canton Fast Pitch Hall of Fame. He was a baseball umpire, bowler, avid golfer and retired from Ashland Oil Refinery after 38 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; sister, Carolyn Snyder; and brother, Richard.
He is survived by his seven children, Mitch (Shirley) of Columbus, Dave of Canton, Tom of Canton, Scott (Mitzi) of Columbus, Cindy (Pat) DeMarco of Kent, Kevin (Mary Jo) of Canton and Brian (Kelly) of Laytonsville, Md.; sister-in-law, Margie Franta of Canton; brother-in-law, Tom Franta of N. Canton; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Friends may call on Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a
