Carol Ann Adkins
age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 1, 2014. She was born in Alliance, Ohio on March 6, 1953 and was a 1971 graduate of Alliance High School. She was employed with the Timken Company for 30 years as an inspector, retiring in 2004. Following her retirement, she worked at the Wal-Mart on West Tuscarawas in Canton. She was a member of the Cathedral of Life and enjoyed going to Bible Study. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends playing cards. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Helen Slusser and her stepmother, Edna Zimmerly.
Survivors include her daughter, Candy (Ed) McNutt; brother, Bill (Joyce) Slusser; granddaughter, Amber Adkins; nephews, Aaron (Jenny) Slusser and Christoper Slusser; stepbrother, Wilbur (Ruthella) Zimmerly; stepsisters, Carol (Larry) Buckwalter, Janet Sommers and Joanne Zimmerly.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 12 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel, with Dr. David Bloor officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10am-12 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her name, to the Cathedral of Life or to the Reed Funeral Home to help with expenses.
