Carolyn A. Simon
age 77, of Massillon passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014. She was born on August 26 1936 in Canton and was daughter of the late Harry and Marie (Hilbert) Rohr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her grandmother who raised her, Carolyn Hilbert. She was a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1954 and was a cashier at Ben Franklin at Amherst. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of Eagles #190 and VFW Post #3124.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 48 years, Frank J. Simon of Massillon whom she married May 29, 1965. Their friends Emmanuel and Evelyn Paradeses stood for them when they were married and they also survive her. She has one niece, Patricia Marie (Paradeses) Rieger, and great niece and nephew, Samantha and Collin Rieger all of Alliance.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Heitger Funeral Home -Massillon Chapel. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Massillon. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Crossroads Hospice, Chief Tom Bergasser, the Massillon Fire Department and neighbors Renee Bogue and Tom and Katie Rivera.
