'Together Again'D. Dwight Jones
Age 97, of Canton, passed away Thursday Nov. 7, 2013 in his home. He was born April 17, 1916 in Pike Township to the late David and Zelma (Young) Jones. Dwight was a 1934 graduate of East Sparta High School. He was a World War II Army veteran where he served with the 49th and the 8th Armored Divisions and was awarded three Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church for 59 years, VFW Post # 233, American Legion Post #44, Loyal Order of Moose, Canton, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 2370 and Pike Grange. Dwight was the owner/operator of Jones Barber Shop for 47 years and was formerly employed by U.S. Quarry Tile in East Sparta.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine (Sterling) Jones in 1989; one brother and sister-in-law, Glenn Harding and Jeanne Jones; one sister, Vesta Young. He is survived by two nieces, Linda Michalak of Chardon, Shelly Snyder of Canton; a special friend, Margaret Graber of Canton South. Dwight's mantra he shared with all, 'Take Care and Be Good to yourself'.
