David E. Stiffler
66, of Carrollton, passed away Jan. 30, 2014 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia. Born in Salem, Ohio Nov. 21, 1947 to Leola Joanne (Hambach) and Robert Stiffler. David graduated in 1965 from United Local High School. He then entered the Air Force and served his country from 1967 to 1971. He retired from Colfor Manufacturing after 25 years as a journeyman tool die maker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Regena (Farkas) Stiffler, whom he married Dec. 22, 1972; daughter, Cheryl (Brian) Benner of Carrollton; son, Robert (Naomi) Stiffler of Malvern; grandsons, Brady and Ethan Benner; step-grandson, Brighton Benner; and granddaughter, Julianna Stiffler. Also surviving are two brothers, Michael (Joyce) Stiffler of Beloit and John (Wendy) Stiffler of Salem; and three sisters, Christine (John) Fitzpatrick of Salem, Linda (Pat) Earich of Guilford Lake, and Kathy Stiffler of Beloit. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and Colfor family. His joy in life was his family.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at 11 a.m in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Pastor Chuck Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery with full military honors provided by the VFW, DAV, and American Legion. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral.
