Deborah Kopatz(1953 - 2014)

Deborah (DeWees) Kopatz
age 60 of North Canton, passed away on May 8, 2014. She was born May 9, 1953 in New Castle, Penn. Deborah was a 1971 graduate of Hoover High School and a 1975 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She was a thoroughbred horse breeder and a bail bondsman. Deborah was a board member for the Horseman Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA), the secretary of Ohio Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders, raised champion English Setter Show dogs, was the treasurer for the Red Hat Ladies, and a member of Christ Presbyterian Church.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, John Coleman DeWees Jr.; step-father, Jack Schotts; and brother-in-law, David Kopatz. She is survived by her husband, Richard Kopatz; son, Philip Kopatz; mother, Barbara Schotts; brother, John (Lori) DeWees; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Barbara Kopatz; sisters-in-law, Karen (Dale) Pruitt, Nancy (Richard) Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel with the funeral service on Wednesday, May 14 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church. Those wishing to share their condolences or a fond memory may do so at
