Esker F. (ECK) Crites
age 91 passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Emeritus. Born Dec. 13, 1921 in Richwood, W.Va. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943-1945, having fought in France and Germany. He also worked 37 years for Standard Oil of Ohio (BP). Esker was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Addie (Woods) Crites and his wife, Myrtle (Cox) Crites.
Esker is survived by his daughter, Beverly Seemann; three grandchildren, Christine Moore, Pamela Bina, and Michael Seemann; seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Audrey and Ryne Moore, Tom, Dave, and Nick Bina and Tyler Seemann. The family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus and the Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 12 to 1 p.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m. Chaplain Jim Walter officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Those wishing to share their condolences or a fond memory may sign the Reed Online Guestbook at
