Eugene William Howley
81 of Canton, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Austin, Minn. on March 6, 1932 to the late William M. and Emily (Engel) Howley. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind. in 1954 and served as a pilot in the United States Navy. He was employed by Westinghouse Corp. in Chicago, Ill., was a Divisional Vice President of Diebold and owner of Signa StorTech.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Lennox) Howley; three daughters, Carol (Marshall) Leininger of Canton, Catherine (Jefferson) Reiter of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Sarah (Paul) Alvarez of Tampa, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Howley of Massillon; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Marilyn Mangano of Tiffin and Kathleen Jacobson of Burnsville, Minn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Stephen C. Howley and a brother, Thomas Howley.
Friends may call Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where a Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. followed by private burial. Messages of condolence and support may be sent to the family at
