Frederick E. Fisher
age 91, died Tuesday after a short illness. Born in Bedford County, Pa. he had lived in Canton since 1948. Fred was retired from Republic Steel. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Canton Hall of Fame Woodcarvers. Fred enjoyed woodworking, crafts, and traveling with his wife. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Preceded in death by his wife, Helen R. Fisher, sister, Sarah Davis and two brothers, Edwin and Clyde Fisher. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Pierson of Canton and JoEllen and Mark Miller of Louisville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Merrilee Fisher of Farmington, Minn., David and Faith Fisher of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Mark and Dianna Fisher of Canton; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray and Shirley Fisher and Glen Fisher of Bedford, Pa. and close family friend, Lois Smith of Canton.
Family and friends will meet on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with Msgr. Frank Carfagna as celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.
