George A. Blaney
75, of Navarre, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Altercare of Navarre following a period of declining health. He was born in Morgantown, W.V., on May 25, 1938, to the late Wilbert C. and Flossie M. (Trader) Blaney, and married Lillian E. Wright on Feb. 20, 1962. She survives. He retired from Nickles Bakery in Navarre.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Sheila Blaney of Justus, Susan Blaney of Canton, Bruce Blaney of Navarre and Brian Blaney of Navarre; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Deloris Blaney of Fredericksburg and Mary (Art) Oplinger of Fredericksburg; and a brother, Perry 'Butch' Blaney of Wilmot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Rowe.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon at the Spidell Funeral Home, 209 Chestnut St., N.W., Brewster, with Pastor Dorsey Davisson officiating. Burial will follow in the Welty Cemetery near Brewster. Friends may call on Thursday one hour before the service from 11:00 a.m. 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.
