George S. Mogus Sr.
Age 83 years, was born in Fairhope, Ohio, Nov. 25, 1929 and went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 13, 2013 in Inverness, Fla., where he had resided since 1989, after retiring from the Hoover company. He worked as a Stationery Engineer, was a 33rd degree Freemason and volunteered for many service organizations including Habitat for Humanity, volunteer fireman, and auxiliary policeman. He enjoyed golf, fishing and camping. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Inverness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Mogus; brothers, Joe Mogus and Mike Mogus. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Blanche Mogus of Inverness, Fla.; daughter, Cathy (Ken) Stephen of North Canton; sons, George (Karen) Mogus of Drummond, Mont., Tom (LeeAnn) Mogus of Canton, Dan (Lori) Mogus of Chesterfield, Mo., Phil (Gina) Mogus of Uniontown; sisters, Anna Bush of Canton, Mary Warner of Massillon and Toots Steigerwald of Canton and Jane Mogus Tuttle and Jim Mogus; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Service of Remembrance was held Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Seagle officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Hooper Crematory, Inverness, Fla. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Fuse Student Ministry, First Baptist Church of Inverness, 550 Pleasant Grove Rd., Inverness, FL 34452. A local memorial service is to be held at a date yet to be determined.
