Gretchen M. Angerman

Gretchen M.
age 95, a longtime resident of Navarre, died Jan. 24, 2013, in Tucson, Ariz., after a period of declining health. Born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 30, 1917, to the late Jacob A. and Adeline (Hoelscher) Meckstroth, she was a graduate of Columbus North High School and the Ohio State University where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She had worked as a bacteriologist and serologist. On March 1, 1941, she married Dr. Robert H. Angerman who also preceded her in death.
Predeceased by a brother and a sister as well, Gretchen is survived by her sons, Dr. Douglas R. (Christina) Angerman of Conneaut and Dr. Dale C. (Roberta) Angerman of Wooster; and her daughter, Jane A. West of Tucson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dr. Charles V. Meckstroth of Columbus. Gretchen was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Navarre and was once active in various church and community organizations.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel. Rev. Elaine Tullis will officiate. Burial will follow in Massillon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m, Thursday morning.
