Homer E. Sell
age 84, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 in St. Luke Lutheran Home for the Aging. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on Jan. 5, 1928 to the late Howard C. and Mildred (Lewton) Sell and was a graduate of Timken High School. He retired from Koller Brothers Hardware where he was employed as a retail sales manager. Homer was a longtime member of the Time Wasters Club and enjoyed building things. His family was very important to him and he loved his grandchildren deeply. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Sell and his sister, Evelyn Christensen.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Sell, whom he married in 1949; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Gregory Himes; grandchildren, Christi (Ken) Clark and Gregory (Margaret) Himes; great-grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Jessi and Tina Himes and Brayton and Kaylin Clark; his brother, Donald (Nancy) Sell; brother-in-law, Vern Christensen; nephews, Michael (Missy) Sell and Tom (Leslie) Christensen; and niece, Christine (Jimmy) Kunkel. The family would like to thank the staff with the Aultman Hospice Program and St. Luke Lutheran Home for the Aging.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW with the Rev. Don Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
