Irma R. Carlberg
age 85, of Jackson Township, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Aultman Hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to the late Frank and Eva (nee Frank) Rauch. Irma was a graduate of Buchtel High School and received her B.A. from the University of Akron where she was a Theta Phi Alpha sister. She went on to complete her M.S. from Case Western Reserve, and received her language diploma from Heidelberg University, Germany. Mrs. Carlberg served as a language teacher at Ellet High School for several years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Rauch. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jan E. Carlberg, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Narrin Carlberg and their daughters, Erica and Eva of Fairview Park, Ohio; daughter, Ingrid Carlberg of Yorktown, Va. and her daughter, Elizabeth Schooley of Norfolk, Va.; and brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Ursula Rauch of Jackson Township.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Friends may call Saturday from 1-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
